FRANKIE COMES AGAIN

Chapter 12: "Dr. Scott To The Rescue"

NOTE:  Originally, Dr. Scott had a song here, but it has been deleted for pace.  This scene is fun as it ends up using similarities from the original film...

PREVIOUSLY:  Brad and Janet, stuck inside the Frank N Furter castle once again (this time on the planet Trasexual after being "zapped" up there), are resting in their separate bedrooms.  However, Dr. Scott, has just been "zapped" up to the castle as well...

Dr. Scott found himself confused for a second.  His wheelchair fit tightly into the glass tube in the control room, as he stared at several guards (both genders) who were staring right back at him.  He could not explain what had just happened.  One moment he was teaching science in his class, and the next moment he was inside a large glass tube, open in the front, inside some large room...a control room, it seemed.
Dr. Scott noticed the guard's attire and realized at once where he was.  Transexual.  How he got there was irrelevant.  Why he is there, he assumed, will be explained momentarily.  In the meantime, he felt no need to panic.  He quietly rolled his wheelchair out into the main floor area, and mumbled hello to the guards, trying to keep a nervous smile on his face.
One male guard approached him and said, "The Queen will be here momentarily."  Then the guard joined the other guards in their tasks: they were pressing buttons, running tests, he assumed.  They were making changes in the control panel.  They were...upgrading?
The guards resumed talking as though Dr. Scott were not in the room.  Dr. Scott listened to the conversations carefully, studying every detail.  Someone said something about not having seen a few guards in a couple of hours and wanted to know if he should put out an alert.  "No, not yet" was the response from another guard. Another conversation detailed a party that was supposed to happen in about an hour or so, as well as the execution of Riff Raff and Magenta.  Then Dr. Scott heard a guard warn another guard, "No, don't touch that!"
Dr. Scott looked over to that direction and saw a glass box with a red button on the inside.  One guard had almost opened the box.
"That button," explained the warning guard, "is an explosive device installed in the castle.  It was to be used on earth should Frank N Furter and his crew ever have any problems.  There's enough explosive in this one press of a button to destroy an entire planet."
Good Heavens, Dr. Scott thought to himself, That's a bomb.
At that moment, a fairly beautiful woman, royalty, entered the room.  "Dr. Scott," she said, "My name is Queen Andoria.  Welcome to Transexual."

Over the next fifteen minutes, the Queen explained the events that had happened thus far to Dr. Scott.   Afterwards, he assured her that he had no idea how to bring Dr. Furter back to life.
This only angered the Queen.  In an angry fit, she told him that if he, Brad or Janet did not put their heads together and figure out the solution, that Riff Raff and Magenta's life will not be the only lives executed that night.
Dear God, Dr. Scott thought, moments after the Queen left the room, We've got to escape...and quickly!
Dr. Scott wheeled out of the control, venturing into the castle's main floor.  "First things first, I need to find Brad and Janet..."

Fifteen minutes later, Dr. Scott had found Brad alone in his room, lying awake in bed.  Brad was surprised to see Dr. Scott in the same situation he and Janet were in, but even more surprised to find out about their forthcoming doom.
"Dr. Scott," Brad said, "I've got to warn Janet.  We've got to get out of here.  Perhaps we can leave the castle and hide in the city?"
Dr. Scott thought about this, and shook his head, "No, we would easily be spotted.  We don't exactly fit in with our earthly attire and all.  Eventually, we would be found and then definitely would be executed."
    "But Dr. Scott!"
    "It's alright, Brad.  I think I have a plan..."

Janet lay in her bed, staring at the pink interior of her bedroom.  She could not sleep.  She found herself restless, thinking about the last information she had been given: the Queen wanted Brad and her to do a small "Pre show" before the execution tonight. What would she do?  She asked herself, They said I should just sing a song about love...about how I feel about Brad.  About commitment.  They said I should open my heart and reveal my inner feelings.  How can I do this when I've never been completely honest about my feelings to Brad or myself?  How can I sing about such things without revealing that my love of Frank N. Furter lingers in my life even as I love Brad?  How will Brad react?
Suddenly, a knock came to the bedroom door.
"Who is it?" Janet asked, sitting up, holding the sheet against her bosom, "Who's there?"
The door creaked open, and a silhouette of Brad entered, whispering, "It's only me, Janet."
"Oh Brad, my darling, come in, come in."  She pulled back the sheets and offered Brad to join her bed.  And why shouldn't she?  After all, it was their honeymoon.
Brad crawled into bed with her and hugged her for comfort, and said, "It's alright, Janet.  Everything's gonna be alright."
Janet, realizing that Brad was allowing his protective side show again, caressed his hair, and said, "Oh, Brad.  You're so strong and protective..."
Strong and protective? Janet thought, running her fingers through his hair, Why does that sound familiar?  As a matter of fact, this entire scenario seems familiar -- like a deja vu...
Suddenly Janet remembered why there was this familiarity, and in a panic, she grabbed some of Brad's hair and yanked real hard!
"Ow!" Brad yelled, jumping off of her, and massaging his sensitive scalp, "Why did you do that?"
Janet realized that the man in her bed was, indeed, her husband.  "I'm sorry, Brad, darling.  I thought you were...  I mean, when you-- oh, never mind.  I'm really very sorry."
Oh my poor husband, she thought, I thought you were Frank.  I mean, it seemed just like before, when Frank crawled into her bed and pretended to be Brad...
Much to Janet's surprise, Brad responded, "It's alright, Janet. I understand completely."
"What's wrong?" Janet asked him, seeing an unusual expression of his face.  She tried to define his expression as a cross between worry and excited at the same time.  The look was very odd -- one that she had never seen from Brad before.
Brad answered, "There's been a change of plans.  Dr. Scott is here."
    Janet gasped, "Dr. Scott?  But--"
Brad interrupted her, "Yes, it's true.  The Queen brought him here for the same reason as us.  But don't worry, Janet.  I've talked to him.  He has a plan."
Janet sat up, and said, "An escape plan?"
"Yes.  And it's not all that complicated, so listen carefully..."
Brad proceed to whisper to Janet the escape plan that Dr. Scott had told him minutes before.  He chose to whisper it quietly into her ear just in case they were being watched from the monitor.  The ways of Transylvanian voyeurism were not unfamiliar to him or Janet.

Dr. Scott sat in his wheel chair inside the castle's control room, watching as the only guard in the room left.  Dr. Scott had told the guard that his assistance was required in the ballroom where Transylvanians were setting up for the party.  At first the guard refused to go, declaring his loyalty to the Queen's request to guard the room.  Then Dr. Scott added that it was the Queen herself that wanted the guard to help in the ballroom.  Hesitantly, the guard gave in and left Dr. Scott alone in the control room.
Dr. Scott waited a few seconds after the guard had left and then looked carefully at the control panels.  He mumbled to himself, "Okay, there isn't much time.  Let's see how difficult these controls are."
Dr. Scott studied each and every panel over the next few minutes.  He was amazed at how similar they were to earth's control panels for spaceships.  He noticed that the fuel gauge was on empty so there was no way they would escape by flying the castle back to earth.
That's when he noticed the control panel which controlled the transport tubes...

When the guard left the control room, he headed towards the double doors that contained the ballroom.  However, as he passed the elevator shaft, he heard an unusual noise, coming from within the elevator shaft.  He stopped and remained quiet.  Suddenly the sound echoed down the shaft again, seemingly coming from up above, perhaps as far as the top floor.
The guard stepped inside the elevator and took it up to the lab.  Inside the lab, he stepped out and observed the room carefully.  Something was odd.  Something seemed wrong.  Something was "different."
He looked ahead of him and saw the three caskets standing in front of the tank.  Each casket was draped with a colored sheet, black, red, and gold.  Behind the caskets, the tank was draped as well, with a white sheet.
A white sheet?!!!  the guard thought, I was here just an hour ago.  There was no sheet covering the tank.
He walked around the caskets and stepped up to the covered tank.  He grabbed the white sheet and pulled it back to look inside the tank to see what it was hiding.
"Oh my god!" he said, seeing the tank's contents.
    BAMMMM!!!!!
The guard was knocked unconscious by an unknown assailant who struck his skull with a heavy barbell.  He fell to the ground and lay motionless...

IN CHAPTER 13:  The party begins, and Brad and Janet perform their pre show.  Afterwards, the Transylvanians dance the Time Warp again as they anticipate the floor show: Riff Raff and Magenta's execution.
