PREVIOUSLY: One year ago, Brad and Janet encountered Frank N Furter and his gang in the castle / spaceship. Today, they appear to have forgotten it. Today they are getting married. However, can this marriage survive when both people cannot be honest with each other? Brad has never forgotten the encounter with Frank N Furter and it has changed his personality. He pretends it never happened. He vows that he will never tell Janet the truth about how it effected him. Janet has a secret as well. She became pregnant around the time of Frank N Furter's encounter. She didn't tell Brad. She secretly went to New York City (Brad thought she was in Europe with her father) and had her baby. She knew there was a chance that the baby belonged to Brad, but after it was born, she realized it was not his. She gave the baby up for adoption and returned home. So, as it seems, both parties in this marriage haven't been honest with each other. Can a relationship like that survive? It seems only logical that they both now have wedding day jitters...
As Brad sat in the men's dressing room, staring into
a mirror at his tuxedo, he couldn't help but wonder if he were doing the
correct thing. How can he marry a woman when he can't be honest with
her. Hell, he can't be honest with himself, for that matter.
He secretly enjoyed that night with Frank N Furter -- and it wasn't just
the sex that night -- it was the sexual liberation. That night changed
him forever, and he found himself as a different person. Trouble
was, if he admitted it, would Janet still love this new person?
"Maybe I shouldn't get married," he mumbled to himself.
Of course, nobody else was in the room, and his words were left without
answer.
Suddenly the dressing room door opened up, and Ralph
Hapschatt entered, closing the door behind him.
"Hey, big fella. How ya feeling?" Ralph asked
him, offering a quick shoulder rub.
Brad answered, "I don't know, Ralph. Am I
doing the right thing?"
"Of course you are!" Ralph answered, "You
and Janet are perfect for each other! Trust me, I know a good relationship
when I see one!"
Brad smiled, glancing at Ralph through the mirror,
"Oh really, Ralph. Is that why you and Betty separated?"
Ralph shrugged, "Well....I guess Betty and I weren't
meant to be. But you and Janet -- now, that's another story!"
"You know, I find it weird that one year ago today
we were at your wedding! What a co-ink-a-dinky."
Ralph remembered back to his wedding to Betty, and
said, "Yeah, what a day. One I will never forget..."
Suddenly Brad got more nervous, "Yeah...it's a day
I will never forget as well."
Ralph saw where this conversation was heading so
he changed the subject slightly: "Hey Brad, did you hear that the church
Betty and I got married in burned to the ground a few days ago? I
guess it was doomed, like mine and Betty's wedding."
Brad laughed and added, "Of course, the fact that
you cheated with Macy Struthers didn't help. Hey, congratulations
on your new position at the television studio. You should be pretty
happy."
"Yep, with a new girl and a new job, what else could
I want?"
Brad stared at his own reflection as Ralph continued
to talk. Suddenly Ralph's words were miles away...
In the women's dressing room, Janet found herself
surrounded by several people, all women. Currently, her mother Emily
was fussing with Janet's hair, brushing it with a large hair brush.
"Janet," Emily said, "I just love your new hair
color. But why did you switch from blonde to brunette?"
Janet stared into the mirror at her long dark hair,
and suggested, "I thought it was time for a change. And what a better
time than my own wedding."
Betty Hapschatt, standing next to Janet, said, "I
think you look darling. Brad's gonna love it."
Neely Pritt added, "Yes, this is going to be lovely
wedding."
Janet was nervous, "Do you think so?"
Emily answered, "Of course it will be! Don't
you doubt it for a minute!"
Suddenly everyone was in heavy chatter, talking
about everything under the sun. Someone brought up Betty and Ralph's
separation, which lead to everyone talking at once, practically.
Janet tuned them out, and wondered if she were doing the right thing by
marrying Brad.
Their voices were miles away...
Janet walked down the church aisle, her long white
train trailing behind her. As she approached Brad (who looked great,
in his black tuxedo) she glanced over at her mother and father. Her
mother was crying hysterically, wiping her eyes with a tissue. She
could see her father mouth the words, "That's my little girl!"
Janet smiled at him, and then turned her attention
back to Brad. Suddenly her fears vanished. She was standing
next to the man she loved, and she knew at that instant that she was doing
the right thing. Regardless of the past year, she knew in her heart
that she loved Brad and wanted to marry him. Her eyes teared up with
joy...
As Brad and Janet exchanged their vows, Brad stared
into Janet's beautiful face and understood something: marrying her was
the right thing. Perhaps it was a sign that life moved on.
A sign that he should let go of the past. He was marrying the woman
he loved, and nothing else mattered. It was at this moment that he
knew everything was finally going to be alright.
"I do," Brad said to Janet.
Janet smiled and a tear drop fell down her cheek.
After the wedding, the reception followed in a big
banquet hall. Brad and Janet mingled in the crowd, as Mr. and Mrs.
Majors. Brad turned around (after saying thank you to a wedding guest)
and saw Dr. Scott, sitting in his wheel chair.
Brad smiled and walked over to him, "Hello, Dr.
Scott! I'm glad you could make it!"
They exchanged a hug, and then Dr. Scott answered,
"I wouldn't miss this for anything. Congratulations."
Brad asked, "How are things? Are you still
teaching?"
Dr. Scott answered, "Yes, I am. As a matter
of fact, I'm teaching a night class tonight. I'll have to be leaving
shortly to make it on time."
Brad smiled, "I'm glad you're happy."
Dr. Scott said, "And you, as well."
MEANWHILE, UP IN SPACE...
Magenta and Riff Raff sat in the control room of
the spaceship / castle. Through the large bay window, they could
see the planet Transexual. Riff Raff smiled at his sister, and she
returned it back. They were almost home! They were very excited.
Riff Raff turned on the monitor and after a few
pressed buttons, a man's image appeared, identifying himself as Captain
Cypress, from Transexual. "We're glad to have you back, Riff Raff,"
the Captain said, "We've released our magnetic pull on your spacecraft.
You're free to use your remaining fuel to land your ship."
"Thank you," Riff Raff answered, "We'll be landing
in a few minutes."
Before signing off, the Captain said one final message
-- one that terrified Riff Raff and Magenta. The message sent chills
down their bones. The Captain said: "When you arrive, the Queen would
like to see you immediately. And be warned. She is not happy."
IN CHAPTER 8: The angry Queen seeks revenge on the killers of her beloved Frank N Furter. What does she have planned for Riff Raff and Magenta? But never fear, Frankie fans: Riff Raff and Magenta have a plan...which includes bringing Brad and Janet to Transexual...
