On "Frankie Comes Again"

Wow.
I'm finally finished.
It was so exciting to relive this script / story
once again and to share it with everyone. As a Rocky Horror fan,
I had always heard the words "Shock Treatment Sucks" from other Rocky fans,
and it hurt. They never appreciated the story, and they felt a disconnection
between the two films. I knew in my heart that a connection to the
two films had to be made. Borrowing a couple ideas from other fans,
and then adding a lot of my own ideas -- things I always wanted in a direct
sequel -- I put together this story.
Frankie Comes Again, a title which seems sexual
in phrase (and humorous), actually refers to the rebirth of Frank.
I focused on the elements of The Rocky Horror Picture Show that
made it a delight to many fans, and I brought those elements into my story.
I am eternally grateful for the fans that think
"Shock Treatment Sucks" because through them I was able to hear
what they didn't like about it -- particular the reasons why they were
disappointed. This allowed me to further bridge the gap between the
two films by giving them what they wanted.
Perhaps now they can enjoy Shock Treatment from
a new perspective.
I know that Richard O'Brien has never stated that
Cosmo is really Riff Raff, etc., but this "change over" certainly allows
the possibility and the chance for people to appreciate Shock Treatment
like they never did before.
But it doesn't stop here.
I have now written a direct sequel to Shock Treatment,
bringing Frank, Columbia, and Rocky to Brad and Janet (on earth).
The new sequel is called "Shock
Treatment 2000," an idea that has been in my head for as many years
as "Frankie Comes Again" has. I believe you'll enjoy that story as
much as you have this one.
