LOOKING FOR TRADE
Can't think of anything interesting about this song,
except some fans call it "Looking For Love" instead of "Looking For Trade."
Many people have troule understanding Jessica Harper's deep vocals, which
often come out as mumbles. Another note of interest: the melody of
the verses is practically identical to a song in "Little Shop Of Horrors"
called "Suppertime." The backup singers credited below as "Band"
refer to Oscar Drill and the Bits, who are dressed in various costumes
during this number. Sometimes Janet sings with them.
Janet: I'm on a cull de sac and
I gotta go back
So come on feet, we're gonna
hit the street
We've got it made - I'm
looking for trade
Brad: I'm looking for love
Janet: I'm looking for trade
I need some young blood,
I need some young blood, I need it now
I need some young blood,
I need some young blood
Band: And were gonna get it somehow
Janet: I'm on a dead end street
- I'm like a dog in heat
I'm like a kid with no toys
- I wanna get those boys
Ooh, I can't delay - I'm
looking for trade
Brad: I'm looking for love
Janet: I'm looking for trade
Oh, were all living like
there's no tomorrow
And the way things are going
that's probably true
But without you and me,
sis, the world would fall to pieces
Vena Cava whos the raver?
Band: Our raving savior that's
you
Janet: I'm on a primrose path -
I'm looking for a little laugh
Remember its no fun To be
the chosen one
There are games to be played
- looking for trade
Brad: I'm looking for love
Janet: I'm looking for trade
I need some young blood,
I need some young blood, I need it now
Oh, I need some young blood,
I need some young blood, and I'm gonna get it somehow
I'm looking for trade.
